NGT Serves Notices To KTR
By: Tupaki Desk | 5 Jun 2020 9:54 AM GMTThe National Green Tribunal (NGT) shocked Telangana IT Minister KT Rama Rao and served him notices on the alleged illegal construction of a farmhouse at the Janwada area near Hyderabad.
The Tribunal sent notices to KTR after taking note of the injections raised by the Congress MP A. Revanth Reddy who represents the Malkajgiri Constituency. Along with KTR notices were also sent to Telangana government, Pollution Control Board (PCB) and Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HDMA)
This development came after Revanth Reddy filed a petition with the NGT claiming that the construction violates GO no 111. Revanth said that GO 111 prohibits from putting up permanent structures in the Osmansagar Lake area.
The NGT has also constituted a fact-finding committee that will be headed by the Central Environment Registry Regional Office and the committee will submit its report within two months.
