Sri Reddy Issue: NHRC Issues Notices To TS Govt.

Sri Reddy episode gained momentum after her semi-naked protest at the Film Chamber demanding justice. The issue has grabbed the attention of the national media and an article has been published in the New York Times as well.
After the semi-naked protest at the Film Chamber Sri Reddy continues to hog the limelight with phase-wise #SriLeaks. There is a lot of hungama going on in the TV channels and the YouTube regarding the leaked pics already. Meanwhile, National Human Rights Commission taken this issue as a suo motu cognizance and issued notices to Telangana Government and Union Information & Broadcasting Ministry over the allegations raised by Sri Reddy.
The commision quoted the media reports that Sri Reddy had questioned Telangana Government and the MAA regarding the absence of Committee Against Sexual Harassment(CASH), and the female actors are not being able to represent their grievances if there was any sexual harassment in the Telugu Film Industry.
The Commission issued notices calling for a detailed report in the matter and the proposed mechanism to deal with the matter within four weeks. The Commission also observed that the State Government needs to take action on the issue and set up a committee to address the grievances of female actors.
