Union Minister Nitin Gadkari sought 3,000 acre of land from AP Government to establish a port at Vadarevu in Prakasam District. He informed, 'Visakhapatnam Port reached a saturation point. New Port would boost the industrial development in the region. A Special Purpose Vehicle will be created to build the port in Vadarevu'.
Here is a twist…State Government had actually wanted the port to be set up in Dugarajapatnam, Nellore District. TDP complained Centre as betrayed AP once again post the announcement from the Union Minister.
