No... Adani's are not going to Rajya Sabha!!
By: Tupaki Desk | 15 May 2022 11:20 AM GMTThe Adani group has cleared the air on the rumours that either Gautam Adani or his wife Preeti Adani are going to become Rajya Sabha MPs. The group issued a statement on Sunday stating that both Gautam and Preeti Adani are not interested in politics and that they are not going to become Rajya Sabha MPs.
There have been strong rumours that the Adanis would enter the Rajya Sabha from the YSRCP quota. There were stories that they would be given one of the four seats that are going t fall vacant in June. Initially, Gautam’s name did the rounds and of late, Preeti Adani is being touted as a possible candidate for Rajya Sabha.
Interestingly, the last time when there were Rajya Sabha elections, the YSRCP allocated one seat to Parimal Nathwani, who is considered a front of the Reliance group. He was made to join the YSRCP and become a member of the Rajya Sabha. Sources say that Adanis did not want to become members of the YSRCP and hence they may have opted out.
Four seats will fall vacant as MPs TG Venkatesh, Suresh Prabhu, Sujana Chowdary and Vijaya Sai Reddy will complete their term on June 21. The YSRCP is expected to bag all the four seats by virtue of its complete domination in the AP assembly. While Vijaya Sai is likely to be renominated, the other three seats could go to Beeda Mastan Rao and two others.
