No clearance for Charan's Zanjeer
By: Tupaki Desk | 25 April 2013 1:30 PM GMTSupreme Court's order halting the promotional campaign and theatrical release of much-awaited bilingual flick Zanjeer came as a shock to the unit members.
The stay is a result of dispute between the three sons of late Prakash Mehra who produced Amitabh Bachchan's Zanjeer. Amit Mehra bought the remake rights of Zanjeer from his brothers Sumeet and Puneet. However, the siblings dragged Charan's producer to court for failing to pay the amount as deal amount on time.
Amit Mehra breathed a sign a sigh of relief when Bombay High Court lifted the stay on Zanjeer and permitted the release. Then the two brothers knocked the Supreme Court's door to get a stay order and they have succeeded. SC ordered the arbitrator (officially appointed individual or body) to resolve the issue within the next six weeks.
As a result, Zanjeer willn't see light any time soon. The fans need to wait for few months to see high-octane action of Charan on the silver screen.
