No Health Minister In This Corona Hot-Spot State
X
The nation is facing one of the biggest and most fierce health crisis ever. The health ministers of all the states are working day in and day out to fight the health crisis. They are busy holding meetings online, reviewing developments from time to time and are moving from one place to another. But, one state in the country has no health minister in this hour of health crisis, not just for one or two days, but for a record 33 days.

Yes. Madhya Pradesh does not have a health minister now. The Kamal Nath Government fell and in its place, Shivraj Singh of the BJP took over. He was sworn in on March 23, the day the 21-day lockdown was implemented. Only Shivraj was sworn in and no other minister was sworn in. As a result, the state does not have a health minister now. The last health minister, Tulsi Silawat, has resigned along with 21 other Congress MLAs on March 10. This means there is no health minister in MP even before the outbreak of the first case of Corona. This perhaps is the only state which is fighting Corona without a health minister in the saddle.

MP is considered one of the hotspots of Corona in the country and it has already recorded 42 Corona related deaths. In terms of number of deaths, MP is next only to Maharashtra, which has recorded 127 death.
