No Holiday for Christmas to create storm
By: Tupaki Desk | 11 Dec 2015 8:51 AM GMTAfter Beef Ban, Maharashtra Government is all set to face criticism yet again for making Christmas this year a 'Working Day'. This is for the second time in a row that Christmas became a working day.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis decided to celebrate Christmas as Good Governance Day as December 25th also happens to be the birthday of Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Even though December 25th will be a holiday, Employees should hold various programs such as seminars and workshops on RTI Act to make everyone aware of the services useful for administration.
Christians allege Maharashtra Government is creating unpleasant atmosphere between communities using Vajpayee's birthday. They suggest Government to referendum on whether or not good governance is being provided instead of seminars.
Even Opposition Parties in Maharashtra raised their voice against the move accusing BJP of deliberately hurting the sentiments of a community. They advise State Government to prefer another date which don't clash with any festival to celebrate Good Governance Day.
