No invite to Jeeyar Swamy for Yadadri temple inauguration

It is now becoming increasingly clear that the stories of estrangement of Telangana CM KCR and Vaishnavaite seer Chinna Jeeyar Swamy are after all real.

There were reports that KCR was miffed that his name was not there on the plaque commemorating the unveiling of the Samata Murthy statue. KCR showed his displeasure by skipping the PM's Visit and even the visit of the President of India. He also decided not to attend the finale of the Samata Murthy fete.

As if confirming the strained relations, the handout issued by the Endowments Department to mark the re-consecration of the Yadadri temple did not have Jeeyar's name. Also, it is learnt that no invitation was sent to Jeeyar Swamy.

In fact, Jeeyar is the moving spirit behind the redesigning and renovation of the temple and he and KCR together have monitored the construction works several times in the past

The temple authorities have decided to perform Maha Kumbha Samprokshana and Maha Sudarshana Yagam in Yadadri temple from March 21 to 28. The invitation did not have Jeeyar Swamy's name.

The invitation said that CM, ministers and several people's representatives would attend the ceremony. The temple authorities have also clarified that the inauguration would be done by the Endowments department itself.

Meanwhile, Chinna Jeeyar has landed in another controversy with his past comments on much revered tribal deities Sammakka and Saralamma. The Dalit and ST organisations are demanding that the Jeeyar apologise for the remarks.

On Friday, Jeeyar clarified that he had utmost respect for the tribal deities. But, that seems to have fallen on deaf ears.
