No Joinings in Amit Shah's presence: Biggies prefer
By: Tupaki Desk | 16 May 2022 6:12 AM GMTThe BJP's Tukkuguda meet may be a success in terms of the crowd mobilisation, attendance and response to Amit Shah's speech. It may be a show of strength in true terms as party leaders buried their differences and worked together. But, on one count, the BJP public meeting has failed to measure up to the expectations.
From the beginning, the BJP had been claiming that several big names from the other parties - both the TRS and the Congress - would join the BJP in the presence of Amit Shah. Big names like Konda Vishweshwar Reddy were thrown in for effect. But, at the end of the day on May 14, no biggie had joined the BJP in Amit Shah's presence.
It was clear that the BJP has failed to lure big names. Sources say that the leaders from the other parties are still in the wait and watch mode. They still seem to be having some doubts about the BJP's ability to trounce the TRS. Hence many big names, though in touch with the BJP for long, have decided not to take the final plunge.
Interestingly, on Sunday, a day after Amit Shah's programme was held, some second level leaders joined the BJP. A former GHMC corporator - Neela Anjan Kumar Goud - joined the BJP with his supporters. He is a close relation of Telangana assembly deputy speaker Padmarao Goud. Former LB Nagar JAC convener Ale Purender, another leader Rakesh joined the BJP. But all these are in political hibernation for quite some time.
