No Lockdown Rules For This Congress MLA

The people at large are following the rules of the lockdown quite steadfastly. But it is the publicity-hungry politicians who are throwing caution to winds and are flouting lockdown rules with impunity. A Congress MLA from the union territory of Puducherry has defied the Lockdown for the second time.
On Tuesday, he gathered around 150 people and distributed essential goods to them. The crowd was uncontrollable and no one followed the lockdown norms. None had a face mask. Even the MLA, identified as John Kumar, did not have a face mask. The incident occurred in Nellitope village in the Union Terrotory. In the past too, the MLA has organised similar programmes to garner publicity. He used these incidents as photo ops and thus get publicity.
The police have now filed cases against him under sections 188, 269 of the IPC and also under the Disaster Managemetn Act. The police said that a case has already been filed against him and that this is the second case. They said stern action would be initiated against the MLA.
