No Need A Fresh Probe On Pink Diamond, Says HC
By: Tupaki Desk | 20 Jan 2021 8:38 AM GMTThe High Court on Tuesday dismissed the petition seeking an order for an appropriate inquiry into the missing pink diamond from the jewellery of Lord Venkateswara in Tirumala.
A PIL was filed by Yallapalli Vidya Sagar from Tirupati in the high court seeking an inquiry into the case as there has been a lot of uncertainty that the diamond was allegedly robbed and auctioned in Switzerland.
The high court said there is no need for a fresh inquiry into the case as the Supreme Court has already given two reports and clarified that there is no need to order a retrial. The bench comprising CJ Justice Arup Kumar Goswami and Justice Praveen Kumar ruled that it could not interfere in the matter.
TDP spokesperson Vidya Sagar has also sought an investigation on former TTD chief priest, MP Vijay Sai Reddy, then EO's IYR Krishna Rao and LV Subramaniam. The court objected to the inclusion of Vijay Sai Reddy as the defendant.
