Surprisingly, Not a single Indian player found a place in ICC's World Cup XI inspite of finishing on top in Pool B table and this is something very rare to happen. Another interesting factor is that New Zealand which stood as runner-up dominated the chart instead of the World Champions Australia.

ICC's World Cup XI have 5 New Zealanders with Brendon McCullum as Captain, Corey Anderson, Trent Boult, Martin Guptill and Daniel Vettori. 3 Australians Glenn Maxwell, Steven Smith and Mitchell Starc, 2 South Africans AB de Villiers and Morne Morkel, 1 Sri Lankan Kumar Sangakkara have found a place in the list. Zimbabwe's Brendon Taylor who scored 433 runs in 6 matches was named as 12th Man in the sqaud.

ICC's World Cup XI Team:

Martin Guptill (New Zealand), Brendon McCullum (New Zealand, captain), Kumar Sangakkara (Sri Lanka, wicketkeeper), Steven Smith (Australia), AB de Villiers (South Africa), Glenn Maxwell (Australia), Corey Anderson (New Zealand), Daniel Vettori (New Zealand), Mitchell Starc (Australia), Trent Boult (New Zealand), Morne Morkel (South Africa), Brendan Taylor (Zimbabwe, 12th man).
