No plans to change Partys Name & Symbol: TDP

TDP Leaders from neighbouring States who attended the ongoing Mahanadu 2015 expressed the opinion that having 'Telugu' as prefix in party's name and party's symbol 'Cycle' are damaging the prospects of Telugu Desam in states like Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Odisha and etc., They even made a suggestion to party leadership to rethink on retaining the party's name and symbol. This gave an impression TDP might alter its name and symbol to emerge as a National party.

However, Telugu Desam Party didn't entertain the suggestions of party leaders in other states. Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu who is also the chairman of committee constituted to expand the party to other states made it clear TDP will retain the same name and the bicycle symbol it has been using for over three decades.

Yanamala assured TDP needn't worry much inspite of having 'Telugu' prefix and 'Bicycle' symbol. He claimed Samajwadi Party which was allotted 'bicycle' symbol by EC has got very little presence in Karnataka and it won't pose a threat to TDP.
