By: Tupaki Desk | 1 Nov 2017 12:05 PM GMTThalapathy, Vijay has been trying to break into Telugu market with his films but some how he is unable to do so. His biggest hit and recent blockbuster, Mersal, that was supposed to release for Diwali, failed to release on time in Telugu due to censor delay.
The makers wanted a simultaneous release. But they failed to acquire a censor certificate and decided to push the release from 20th of October to a week, 27th October. But the censor did not issue certificate even after the date as passed. Telugu producer Sharath Marar, remained silent on the issue after announcing the indefinite postponement.
Now, the update regarding this is that producers have decided to return the money of the distributors and sell the movie remake rights. Apparently, Geetha Arts, a big production house in Telugu, headed by Allu Arvind, bought the rights it seems. Who will act in this movie is still a suspense but as off now, according to trustworthy sources, remake rights are with them. By the way, Mersal is continuing its blockbuster run in Tamil Nadu despite heavy North East Monsoon rains.
