No Relief For Maharashtra With Steady Spike In Covid-19 Infections

In the last 24 hours, Maharashtra has witnessed the highest single-day infections so far with not less than 31,855 new Covid-19 cases. With this, the total number of infections in the state zoomed to 25,64,881.
Maharashtra registered the previous highest single-day infections on March 21st with 30,535. Three days later, the state witnessed the highest infections since the virus entered the country.
As per the information shared by the Health Ministry, 95 people lost their lives battling respiratory disease in the past 24 hours, taking the total toll of the pandemic-related fatalities to 53,684.
The only relief for Maharashtra is that the recoveries are also getting increased constantly. With not less than 15,098 patients beating the virus in the past 24 hours, a total of 22,62,593 patients have recovered from the virus with a recovery percent of 88.21 percent.
Pune, Nagpur, Mumbai, Thane, Nashik, Aurangabad, Bengaluru Urban, Nanded, Jalgaon, and Akola districts are reporting the highest number of infections.
The other day, the Maharashtra government imposed a 10-day lockdown in Nanded and Beed districts to curb the infections. The lockdown will be in effect from March 26 to April 4. Except for the essential services, all the services will be shut down.
