NDA Government's ambitious Smart City project is meant to transform the cities at a fast pace using the Central funds.

In the list of first round announced in January this year, Centre picked up 20 Cities from across the Country. While Two Cities of AP namely Visakhapatnam and Kakinada made it to the list, None from Telangana were included.

Its complete contrast coming to the Second Round as none of the AP Cities were picked up by Centre. At the same time, Warangal from Telangana is one among the 13 Cities selected. The other cities include Lucknow, Dharamsala, Raipur, Chandigarh, Ranchi, Panaji, Port Blair, New Town Kolkata, Fariabad, Bhagalpur, Imphal and Agartala.

AP Government expected Centre to include Tirupati at least in the Second Round but that didn't happen. This only hints the widening gap between the alliance partners.

NDA Government planned to spend Rs 48,000 crore for a period of 5 Years to develop 100 Smart Cities.
