Why No Exchange of Sweets on Aug 15th?
By: Tupaki Desk | 13 Aug 2015 7:13 AM GMTThe tradition of exchange of sweets between rangers of Pakistan and BSF along the Border and Line of Control on Republic Day, Independence Day, Diwali, Holi and Eid is something that's been practised since years. However, There won't be any such traditional exchanges during this year's Independence Day.
In view of violation of cease fire across the boarder and terror attacks, The Border Security Force (BSF) has decided neither to offer sweets to Pakistan Rangers nor accept any such eatables from them on August 15th this year. DK Pathak who is the Director General of the BSF has announced the decision officially.
This move by India is an attempt to send strong message to Pakistan that it cannot plot terror attacks, violate cease fire and then exchange sweets.
In 2015 alone, Pakistan violated ceasefire at least 200 times along the International border.
