When the discussion over when the much-anticipated winter session of Parliament will take place, the Centre led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi surprised everyone by scraping the winter sessions reportedly.

News Agency ANI stated that Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary demanded that the winter sessions of Parliament should be commenced to have a discussion over the controversial farm laws.

Responding to the Congress leader demand, Parliamentary affairs minister Pralhad Joshi in a letter stated that the Centre has canceled the Winter sessions of parliament, reports claimed.

It has been widely reported that the union government decided to scrap the winter session of Parliament based on the Coronavirus situation prevailing in the country.

Pralhad Joshi said the leaders of the opposition leaders have agreed to the center's decision to scrap the winter sessions and said the Budget session 2021 would be held in January 2021

One has to wonder, how the union government, which went for Parliament sessions in September when the Coronavirus pandemic was at the peak wants to scarp the Winter sessions cited Covid-19.

It has to be noted that when Parliamentary sessions were held in September, several MPs have contacted the Coronavirus and were asked to follow the home-isolation period. The farm bills were passed during the same sessions only.
