Nobody Bothers About Nandi Awards: Murali Mohan
By: Tupaki Desk | 3 Sep 2019 3:19 PM GMTMurali Mohan made sensational comments on Nandi Awards which used to be presented by the State Government for the best talents in the Telugu Film Industry. This practice was continued until the bifurcation of United AP. Although TDP Government announced Nandi Awards for almost 3 years at once, Choice of Award Winners sparked a controversy and they were even termed as 'Kamma' Awards. The previous government hasn't even dared to hold the presentation ceremony fearing the backlash.
While taking part in a programme hosted by T Subbarami Reddy, Murali Mohan expressed his displeasure over the failure of State Government to present Nandi Awards. 'In the past, Award Ceremonies were celebrated like festivals. But now, There are no people to talk about them. Previous Govt has ignored Nandi Awards completely. Nandi Awards are prestigious awards. All the 24 Crafts feel proud to bag the state awards. In the few years, Nobody bothered to care about the Nandi Awards. At least now, State Government should focus on presentation of the Nandi Awards,' he appealed.
This situation wouldn't have arised had if TDP Government picked up the award winners in a impartial manner. Why didn't Murali Mohan made such comments when he was part of the TDP Government?
