Not all but selected beneficiaries to get Dalit Bandhu cheques?
By: Tupaki Desk | 14 Aug 2021 1:38 PM GMTIt is known that the Telengana government had launched Dalit Bandhu scheme. CM KCR had earlier said the scheme was announced keeping Huzurabad elections in mind.
Now the government has reportedly fixed August 16 as the day to formally launch the flagship scheme.
While everyone thought that all the beneficiaries from Dalit community are eligible for the scheme and they can apply for the scheme, the government came up with a shocking news.
As per the media reports, only 15 beneficiaries will be selected for the scheme and the cheques of Rs 10 lakh will be handed over by Chief Minister KCR.
It has been widely reported that the concerned authorities in Karimnagar district will shortlist 15 beneficiaries upon conducting a detailed background check.
Once the shortlist is prepared, the same would be sent to the Government and the beneficiaries would be given cheques from the government.
Somehow the news of limited beneficiaries getting the cheqes was out which resulted in people protesting at the Karimnagar MRO Office.
Media reports claim that, Dalits questioned the officers at the MRO office on why only a limited beneficiaries were selected when hundreds of applications were filed.
Dalit Bandhu scheme had landed in the middle of the controversy even before it was lauched. We have to wait and see how the government deals with it.
