Friday's Rajya Sabha elections in Andhra Pradesh have heralded a new history. AP has become fully and completely Congress-Mukt. Yes. After a whitewash in the assembly and lok sabha elections, the AP legislative council too became Congress-Mukt. Now, the Congress has also been wiped out from AP quota in Rajya Sabha. Now the circle is complete. Thanks to Congress party's folly of dividing the state, it is completely wiped out from AP.
The biggest mistake that the Congress did was to force YS Jagan out of the party. When Jagan formed a regional party, the party began losing its steam. It had lost all the key leaders one by one. Now, the party has gone into a complete hibernation. Present APCC chief Shailaja Nath is not even touring the state. Ever since he took over, not even a single meeting has been organised. Raghuveera, who was preceding APCC chief, has limited himself to the farming activity in his native village of Neelakanthapuram.
In the Rajya Sabha biennial polls held on Friday, the YSRCP has swept all the four seats. The TDP had put up a token fight and its candidate Varla Ramaiah polled less votes than expected.
