NRI Jayaram Murder Case Pressmeet

According to Cops, Rakesh Reddy was involved in settlements and real estate activity. Jayaram borrowed Rs 2.25 crore from Rakesh Reddy initially after they came in touch with each other. Later, Another Rs 1.2 crore was obtained as loan from the Rakesh Reddy. Jayaram went to US and returned to India again. He borrowed another Rs 80 lakh from Rakesh Reddy in two instalments. Jayaram promised to offer his house to Rakesh Reddy if he fails to return the money within the fixed date. Thereafter, Rakesh Reddy came to know that Jayaram's house was already mortgaged in the bank.
In 2018, Jayaram who was in American sought the help of Rakesh Reddy to settle a dispute in his company and told Firm's Director Shika Chowdary will guide him. That's how Rakesh Reddy and Shika Chowdary came to know each other.
Jayaram stopped attending the calls when Rakesh Reddy demanded payment of Rs 6 crore (including interest). On January 29th, Jayaram came to Shika Chowdary's house. Rakesh Reddy came to know about it from his manager who was deployed at the spot.
Since then, Rakesh Reddy began luring Jayaram by sending messages to him using a female name. In that way, Jayaram was made to reach the Jubilee Hills Road No.10. That's how the trap was set for Jayaram. Upon nabbing him, Rakesh Reddy asked Jayaram about the money he was supposed to pay. Then, Money recovery process began. Jayaram was made to seek money from those who knew him. While a former employee of the company paid Rs 6 lakh to Rakesh Reddy's Gang at Daspalla Hotel, Shika Chowdary and others told they doesn't have money. Out of frustration that they weren't able to get the money, Accused started harassing Jayaram physically on January 31st and even medicines were offered to him. Jayaram passed away as the accused pressed on his head after he collapsed on the sofa. Knowing about Jayaram's plan to visit Vijayawada, Rakesh Reddy tried to present it as death by accident taking the help of two cops (CI, ACP). Watchman Srinivas cooperated with Rakesh Reddy for shifting the body into the car.
SP clarified, 'Shika Chowdary and Rakesh Reddy had been in a live-in relationship in the past but they had a break-up few months ago. There was no phone conversation between the two after the murder'.
