We might have see many great actors in the 100 Years of Indian Cinema but none would get into the big shoes of Legendary NT Rama Rao. Known to be one of the finest actors in the country, NTR never took anything for granted even after reaching the peaks and that's what makes him special.
Senior comedian AVS was lucky enough to make his sting debut and witness the viswaroopam of NTR on the same day (September 8th), exactly 21 years ago. NTR was shooting for the film 'Srinada Kavi Sarvaboumudu' and director okayed the shot where the actor will be chained and beaten up with a whip in a single take. But, NTR wasn't happy with the shot and he immediately asked the director to give him some time. NTR took off his shirt and sat under the scorching sun for 45 minutes. A re-shoot has been done after that and the shot was okayed again in just one take. Later, NTR explained he has to look tired for that sequence instead he looked fresh with ample make-up and so he burnt his body to make the scene look more authentic.
"NTR was 70-years-old at that time. There is no necessity for him to do such things as crores of Telugus would be glued to the screens no matter how he acts. But, he didn't take that for granted. That's the greatness of NTR," says AVS.
