Ever since the freebies issue became a topic of discussion on whether the practice gives a positive outcome or it is a trend that has to be stopped, Chief Justice of India NV Ramana has been opposing the trend. The Supreme judge in the nation is of the opinion that freebies will destroy the economy.

NV Ramana has been saying that freebies should be stopped to see that freebies won't put a burden o the economy. Hearing a petition on this, earlier this week, the bench led by NV Ramana asked what is stopping the union government from forming an all-party meeting to discuss the freebies.

On Friday as well, the bench led by NV Ramana heard a petition on freebies. Today is the last working day of NV Ramana and on his last day in the top court, NV Ramana heard petitions to related to various issues including the freebies.

Making his last day special and stepping down as the Chief Justice of India with a special honor the proceedings of the Supreme Court were telecasted live and this is the first time that the court's proceedings were live streamed.

A special link was provided and those who want to know how the court proceedings happen can have a look at it. The last time court proceedings were live telecasted was back in 2018. Now the same was repeated.

Moreover, no Chief Justice of India got the opportunity to live stream the court proceedings on the last day of working at the top court. Only NV Ramana got the honor which will make him the only CJI to do so. Following the tradition, he shared the bench with the next CJI U.U. Lalit.

NV Ramana received a stunning farewell from the senior judges and advocates. Judges and advocates recalled their memories on the occasion. Showering massive praises on NV Ramana, senior Advocate Dushyant Dave said that he gave his best in the position and he is believed to have broken down.

The likes of Solicitor General Tushar Mehta and Attorney General K.K. Venugopal also recalled their memories and thanked his services to the judiciary.
