Official Report Says 400 People At Markaz Test Positive For COVID-19

Tamil Nadu has registered the largest share so far at 190, followed by 71 in Andhra Pradesh, 53 in Delhi, 28 in Telangana, 13 in Assam, 12 in Maharashtra, 10 in Andamans, six in Jammu and Kashmir, and two in Puduchhery and Gujarat each.
Authorities scoured mosques across India on Wednesday trying to trace people who attended the gathering of the Muslim group in Delhi that has emerged as a hotspot in the spread of coronavirus in India. Over 1,800 people have tested positive across the country so far.
India reported a record increase of 386 cases in the past 24 hours, pushing the total number to 1,637, according to the country's health ministry. The death toll is now 38.
"Nowhere have we said that there is a community transmission. We are still in a local transmission in this country," Lav Agarwal, the joint secretary in the health ministry said.
