X
The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy led government tasted a jolt with Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan directing the state government to restore Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar as the State Election Commissioner(SEC).

It has been widely reported that Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan wrote a letter to Chief Secretary(CS) of the government to take all the required actions on the grounds of the HC's directions to reappoint Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar as SEC.

The new development took place day after Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar met Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan at Raj Bhavan with Andhra Pradesh High Court directing him to request the Governor to restore him as SEC.

Looking at the timeline of the Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar's row, Nimmagadda postponed the local body elections in the state in the wake of the spread of the virus which irked the government.

The AP government sacked him as SEC by bringing an ordinance to decrease the tenure as SEC which forced Nimmagadda to knock the doors of the Court. With the apex court refusing to issue a stay order in this regard, Nimmagadda moved the High Court to restore him as SEC.
