As per the study conducted by NSSO, Telugu People doesn't prefer travelling outside AP & Telangana much, be it to visiting tourist destinations or recreation or shopping.

Statistics show only 8.1 percent Telugu people have opted for overnight trips in 2014-15 to occupy last but one place in the country. While Odisha recorded lowest percentage of 7.5, Haryana topped the list with 38 percent.

The count of leisure tours in urban areas of AP and Telangana stood at 1,20,600 and 2,02,700 respectively. These figures are the lowest in Southern India and also placed close to bottom if comparisons were drawn with other states in the country. Maharashtra holds the top spot with 21,40,900 leisure trips.

On the other hand, Telugu States were found leading in the count of single woman travellers preferring overnight leisure trips. While it is 53 percent in AP, Telangana contributes 60 percent.

AP performed well in attracting people across the World for pilgrimage sites. While Uttar Pradesh has seen 12,72,400 visitors in 30-days, AP managed to record 8,68,100 visitors to claim the second position.
