Operation Akarsh: Current Trend In AP Politics?
By: Tupaki Desk | 8 May 2023 11:25 AMThe much-awaited general elections are one year away from now in Andhra Pradesh. But the election fever had already gripped the state as the political parties already swung into action and were busy implementing their strategies. Parties focusing on their game plans have caught everyone's attention in the state.
Political observers say that Operation Akarsh is the current trend in state politics. Both the ruling YSRCP and the opposition Telugu Desam Party are using the same game plan. Both parties want to come to power at any cost and are playing their cards right in this regard.
After the 2014 elections, many MLAs from YCP joined the TDP camp as the grand old party was in power. The then opposition YCP slammed the TDP for doing so. Interestingly the same happened post the 2019 elections. A few leaders became rebel leaders while a few others shifted their loyalties to YCP.
To see that they get an advantage both YSRCP and TDP are trying to attract leaders from the other parties. A few leaders who were with TDP are now with YCP. Vidadala Rajini is one such example.
Earlier there were reports that the YCP would give party tickets for the candidates who got good reviews in the internal surveys. A majority of sitting MLAs might not get the tickets for the next elections which is worrying them. The opposition Telugu Desam Party wants to bank on their fear reportedly and take them to their side.
The YCP is also doing the same as per the reports. The ruling party is said to be holding talks with the leaders who might not get party tickets. While a few of them are assured of tickets, some of them are assured that they will be given support for the elections and if needed the monetary help would also be provided, as per the media reports.
TDP recorded its worst election performance in 2019 and the grand old party wants to prove that it is still strong and people have trust in it.The ruling YSRCP wants to come to power for the second consecutive term.
Pawan Kalyan's Janasena is also in the political fight. A few leaders from other parties joined the party earlier and with Operation Akarsh going on at full swing, they might shift their loyalties if everything goes as per the planning.
