Oracle Wins Bid For TikTok's US Operations

The owner of TikTok has chosen Oracle over Microsoft as its trusted tech partner to run its US operations.
According to reports, it was inexact whether TikTok choosing Oracle as their partner would mean that Oracle would also take a majority ownership stake of the video-sharing app".
US President Donald Trump has threatened to ban TikTok by September 20 and ordered the ByteDance to sell its U.S. business, alleging national-security risks due to its Chinese ownership. Trump also said that he would support Oracle buying TikTok.
In an official statement, Microsoft said its bid for TikTok operations in the US was rejected. "ByteDance let us know today they would not be selling TikTok's US operations to Microsoft. We are confident our proposal would have been good for TikTok's users while protecting national security interests," Microsoft said.
