OU Students Move High Court Against KCR
By: Tupaki Desk | 14 Feb 2019 11:48 AM GMTSecond Phase Telangana Movement wouldn't have been successful without the significant role of Osmania University Students. They kept the movement alive with the spirited fight for statehood, especially from 2009 to 2014. And now, OU Students didn't mind going against KCR whom they had supported during the statehood movement.
Two OU Research Scholars filed Public Interest Litigation in the Telangana High Court seeking the declaration of KCR's Single-Member Cabinet as illegal and unconstitutional. They found fault with Telangana CM failing to constitute full-fledged cabinet even after two months.
Research Scholars complained that people aren't able to offer representation to the concerned ministers over issues because of this situation. They cited non-payment of funds to OU by State Government as the reason behind the petitions. 'If KCR is inaccessible and Ministers are non-existent, Whom should we approach for a solution?,' asked the Petitioners.
Better if TRS Government addresses the issues related to Osmania University as early as possible, or else another movement could be launched anytime soon.
