'Out of Power' Naidu and 'Powerless' Naidu

Both have been through the thick and thin. Though belonging to different parties, they travelled together and protected one another. In fact, the closeness of the two Naidus helped in stitching up alliances whenever they wanted.
But, now things are a changing. Chandrababu Naidu is out of power and Venkaiah Naidu is powerless. Though a vice-president, Venkaiah is unable to influence the BJP policies anymore Chandrababu has been thrown out of power in the recent elections. What was most painful to the two Naidus is that on Thursday, four Rajya Sabha MPs shocked Chandrababu Naidu and joined the BJP. The other Naidu, who is now the chairperson of the Rajya Sabha , had to preside over the defection from the TDP and the joining in the BJP. It must have been truly painful for both the Naidus, said a political watchers.
Four TDP Rajya Sabha MPs have left the TDP on Thursday and joined the BJP. These MPs constitute two thirds of the party's strength in Rajya Sabha and the changeover will be seen as a merger not defection.
