86 Percent support Demonetization: Survey
By: Tupaki Desk | 23 Nov 2016 9:17 AM GMTA Nationwide survey conducted by C-Voter suggests 86 percent of the respondents have come in support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's demonetization scheme despite the hardships faced by them. They express the feeling that inconvenience caused by the note ban is worth the effort to wipe out black money and fake currency.
The survey was conducted in nearly half of Lok Sabha constituencies on Monday. Categories were decided based on the location, age groups and income levels.
86 percent of respondents in Urban and Rural areas agree inconvenience is worth the results which can be achieved in future. Whereas, Only 80.6 percent in Semi-Urban areas favoured the currency ban.
90.6 percent of respondents of higher-income group welcomed demonetization. In the income groups Below 25, 25-45, 45-60 and 60+, 83.3 percent felt it is necessary.
Interestingly, 71 percent of respondents in Urban areas said demonetization is a good move and implemented well. Whereas, The ratio is 65.1 percent in semi-rural and 59.4 percent rural areas.
