Padma Awards 2020: PV Sindhu Among 141 Awardees!

Government of India announced the Padma Awards for the year 2020 ahead of the 71st Republic Day. As many as 141 Achievers will be conferred with the highest civilian awards this year. This include 7 Padma Vibhushan, 16 Padma Bhushan and 118 Padma Shri Awards. While 33 Awardees are Women, About 18 are for NRI/Foreigners/PIO/OCI and 12 awardees are Posthumous.
Five Telugu Personalities are among the recipients of Padma Awards: PV Sindhu (Sports), D Chalapathi Rao (Arts), Yadla Gopala Rao (Arts), Chinnatala Venkat Reddy (Agriculture) and Vijayasaradhi Sribhashyam (Literature).
Sushma Swaraj, Mary Kom, Arun Jaitley, George Fernandes, Anerood Jugnauth GCSK, Chhannulal Mishra and Sri Vishveshateertha Swamiji Sri Pejavara Adhokhaja Matha Udupi were chosen for Padma Vibhushan.
PV Sindhu, Anand Mahindra, Mumtaz Ali, Manoj Das, Syed Muazzem Ali, Muzaffar Hussain Baig, Ajoy Chakravorty, Balkrishna Doshi, SC Jamir, Anil Prakash Joshi, Krishnammal Jagannathan, Tsering Landol, Neelankanta Ramakrishna Madhava Menon, Manohar Gopalkrishna Prabhu Parrikar, Jagdish Sheth and Venu Srinivasan were preferred for Padma Bhushan.
