FGS Secretary M Padmanabha Reddy Writes To TS Governor On Cases Pending Against Politicians!

Taking forward its fight, the body has released the report on the criminal cases filed against the public representatives in Telangana. The report says, 509 cases were registered against the MLAs and MPs in the state.
Going by the details provided by the Forum for Good Governance, 346 cases are pending against 64 Telangana Assembly members, while 133 cases are pending against 10 MPs. While 39 cases are pending against the former MLAs.
The body went on to say, out of the 509 cases registered against the public representatives, only 245 cases were transferred to special courts and there is no progress in the case trials.
FGG secretary M Padmanabha Reddy said, the verdict was given in only 73 cases since 2018 and said no public representative was punished as per the verdicts the courts gave.
Adding further, Mr. Reddy alleged that the Telangana government and the police department are not cooperating to set up special courts and seeing that the trials are completed in one year.
In his letter to Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan, Mr. Reddy sought appropriate directives from her to direct the cops in the state to corporate in speeding up the prosecution in the cases against the public representatives.
