Prez Kovinds Plane Cant Enter Our Airspace: Pak

Indian President Ram Nath Kovind's tri-nation tour to Iceland, Switzerland and Slovenia from Monday had an obstacle. Government of India requested Pakistan to permit President's Plane to flyover its airspace to reach Iceland. Islamabad, however, denied permission for Mr.Kovind to use its airspace citing the strained relations following the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir.

Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi informed that PM Imran Khan choose not to offer permission for President Kovind to fly in his country's airspace taking into account India's stand on Jammu and Kashmir, and Kulbhushan Jadhav's death sentence.

Post the Airstrikes following the Pulwama Terror Attack in February 2019, Pakistan closed its airspace for Indian Traffic. These restrictions affected major international air routes until the Airspace was reopened in July.

President Ram Nath Kovind will land in Iceland on September 9th to hold talks with its President Gudni Johannesson and Prime Minister Katrin Jakobsdottir. He is going to be in Switzerland from September 11th to 15th for meeting its President Ueli Maurer and the Swiss Cabinet. Finally, President is gonna reach Slovenia before returning to India.
