Palakollu TDP MLA's honest assessment shocks TDP

Some politicians are brutally honest. One such politician is Palakollu MLA and TDP leader Nimmala Ramanaidu.
In an assessment of the political situation in AP, he said that if the TDP fought alone, it may not win more than 100 to 110 seats in the next assembly elections. This estimate is at variance with Chandrababu's own estimate of winning 160 seats whenever elections are held in AP.
Ramanaidu, who attended the "Open Hear With Radhakrisna" on ABN Andhra Jyothi said that the TDP can win up to 150 seats only if it allies with the Jana Sena.
He further said that the TDP should court Kapus and then alone it can outperform the YSRCP. This means that Ramanaidu is strongly rooting for an alliance with Kapus.
Ramanaidu reasoned that even in 2014, when the TDP was in alliance with the BJP and the Jana Sena, the YSRCP could win 67 seats. The TDP could get just 108.
Hence an alliance with the Kapus is important, he reasoned. In effect, Ramanaidu has admitted that the YSRCP is quite strong in AP even when it fought alone.
The YSRCP is happy with Ramanaidu's assessment on the political situation in AP. They feel that the TDP is down in morale and is weak in several parts of the state.
Even if TDP allies with Jana Sena, it may not be in a position to defeat the YSRCP, they feel. On the whole, Ramanaidu's frank and honest assessment has proved to be a dampener for the TDP.
