Palle Raghunath Reddy calls JC Prabhakar Reddy a rowdy

Foundation Day is supposed to bring out the unity in the party. But for the TDP, it has ended up as an occasion to show the ugliest face of rampant groupism in the party. In Anantapur district, two senior leaders, one of them a former minister, have begun a slanging match that shows no signs of abating.
Former minister Palle Raghunath Reddy and senior politician JC Prabhakar Reddy have slammed each other. While Prabhakar Reddy said that Palle Raghunatha Reddy should not be given the TDP ticket in the 2024 elections, Palle called Prabhakar Reddy a street rowdy and a factionist. He said the JC brothers- JC Diwakar Reddy and Prabhakar Reddy – have harassed the TDP leaders for over 35 years. He said those who joined the TDP in 2014 were trying to dictate terms to those who have been with the party through the thick and thin.
On Tuesday Tadpatri strongman JC Prabhakar Reddy turned the Foundation Day event into a political slugfest when he said that former minister Palle Raghunath Reddy should not be given the party ticket from Puttaparthi. This led to a slugfest between the two prominent leaders of the party.
The TDP is deeply divided and the fissures are threatening to hit at the roots of the party in Anantapur. The rampant groupism among the TDP came to the fore on its 40th foundation day on Tuesday. In most constituencies, the leaders celebrated the foundation day separately. Different groups had separate programmes leaving the cadre thoroughly confused. Such unsavoury scenes were witnessed in Madakasira, Penugonda, Puttaparthi, Dharmavaram, Rayadurgam and Kalyanadurgam.
