Post the demise of Jayalalithaa, Everyone assumed Tamil Nadu CM O Panneerselvam will be a puppet in the hands of Sasikala Natarajan. Even Panneerselvam behaved in a same manner until recently but he changed the route to remain as CM throughout the full term.
After Sasikala was chosen as AIADMK General Secretary, Party Leaders and Cadre kept visiting Poes Garden residence to seek her blessings. Some of the Ministers and MLAs appealed her to be the CM of Tamil Nadu to get into her good books.
O Panneerselvam got alerted up on doubting the plans of Sasikala's camp to promote her as next CM. He is doing everything he can to safeguard his post. As part of it, He went to Delhi for meeting PM Narendra Modi. Although he claims the meeting was solely meant to seek Bharat Ratna for Jayalalithaa, Political reasons can't be ruled out here. Panneerselvam refused to speak with media after the meeting with PM. His silence is only adding fuel to the fire. A situation where Panneerselvam asking, 'Who is Sasikala?' might arise if the rift gets ugly.
