We are not even into May and the temperature has reached a problematic level. The school-going students are unable to bear the high temperature and in a few incidents, a few students have collapsed. Following this, the parents of the students are afraid to send their kids to school.

Despite the other states starting mid-day schools and half-day schools, there is no such planning in Andhra Pradesh and the government is facing severe criticism on this. The parents are demanding that the government should seriously focus on starting the mid-day schools

Looks like the demands of the parents were addressed by the government. Andhra Pradesh Education Minister Audimulapu Suresh came up with some good news. He said that from the 4th of April, the mid-day schools will start. The Minister said that the decision was taken keeping the health of the students in mind.

Taking to Twitter, the Cabinet Minister said that the half-day schools will be run between 7:30 AM and 11:30 AM. The decision was taken given the health of the students he said.

"Half day schools from the 4th of this month(Monday). The decision was taken keeping the severity of summer and for the safety of the health of the students. Colleges will be run between 7:30 and 11:30 in the morning. 10th exams from April 27th.Intermediate exams from May 6th,” Adimulapu Suresh's tweet reads in Telugu.

This news is a big relief for the parents of the students who are worried about their kids given the increasing temperature. With this, Andhra Pradesh had joined the list of states that had started half-day schools so that the students won't face any issues.

Earlier, the Child Rights Protection Forum (CRPF), a firm that fights for the rights of the children had also urged the Andhra Pradesh government to start the half-day schools as the temperatures are going up steadily. The body even expressed its concerns over the health of the children in summer.

Many states including Telangana, the national capital Delhi have announced half-day schools considering the hot summers, giving big relief for the students and their parents.
