Parties Focus On Upcoming Polls
By: Tupaki Desk | 5 Dec 2020 4:46 AM GMTNow that the GHMC polls have indicated that there is a strong anti-incumbency, the political parties have now turned their attention to pin down the TRS further. They have now focused on the upcoming elections in the state and are now busy putting up the right candidates for them.
By February, the elections to the Graduate MLC constituencies of Mahabubnagar-Rangareddy-Hyderabad and Waranga-Khammam-Nalgonda would be held. The BJP is trying to defend N Ramachandra Rao, who represents Mahbubnagar-Rangareddy-Hyderabad. This will soon be followed by the byelections to the Nagarjunasagar assembly seat. Sitting TRS MLA Nomula Narsimhaiah passed away recently. In addition, there would be municipal corporation elections to Khammam and Warangal cities.
The BJP and the Congress are trying to make a strong bid in these seats. The TRS is trying to retain its supremacy and is expected to pit all the resources in its command to win these elections. The BJP, which got less than 3000 votes in the 2018 elections, is on the lookout for a strong candidate for Nagarjunasagar.
