Smugglers have been reinventing new methods to smuggle gold to India by deceiving the Airport Authorities.

On Monday, Air Intelligence Unit at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad detained a Passenger who tried to smuggle gold. The method he choose to do so has been the first of its kind. Buttons made up of gold has been concealed in the regulator of a gas cylinder. These gold buttons weighed 379 grams.

Customs Officials disclosed they have arrested the Passenger upon having clear information about the gold smuggling. The six gold buttons cost anywhere around Rs 11.50 lakhs.

The Passengers admits moulding gold in the form of gold and smuggling it. He was taken into custody and his passport has been seized.
