Mumbai Indians team is not having a good time in the ongoing Indian Premier League season. Though the Mumbai Indians team has had the history of losing the first match in almost every season, the team is unable to score a win in the first three matches it has played. The Rohit Sharma-led team had registered a hat-trick of losses.
The Mumbai Team had locked horns with Kolkata Knight Riders on Wednesday. Despite losing early wickets, the middle order had helped the team put a fighting score on the board. But a KKR batsman changed the match direction at once with his destructive batting and took his side to victory.
Chasing down a target of 161, KKR had lost five wickets for 101 by the end of the 14th over. The match was going in Mumbai Indian’s way. But Australian bowler Pat Cummins came to the rescue of his team and he had smashed the Mumbai bowlers out of the park. His heroics made him make a record.
Pat Cummins' fiery knock of 56 not out in just 15 balls had helped him equal the record of the fastest half-century in IPL. Now he jointly holds the fastest half-century record with India’s KL Rahul. KL Rahul had made this record back in 2018.
Pat Cummins had unleashed the batsman in him and helped his team register a comfortable win. In two overs, he had shifted the momentum towards the KKR and the team chased down the target in just 16 overs.
To show the destruction caused by Pat Cummins, fellow Australian bowler Daniels Sam had to bled not less than 35 runs in an over, as his over was filled with four sixes and two boundaries. This made him join the unwanted list of bowlers who bowled the most expensive overs in the history of IPL.
