Patanjali Among Companies Polluting Ganga

Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) Report confirms Yoga Guru Ramdev Baba's Patanjali is one of the companies which has been polluting river Ganga by discharging waste into the water body. The report on Namami Gange (Clean Ganga) Project was tabled in Parliament revealed shocking facts.
Clean Ganga was highlighted in BJP Manifesto in 2014 General Elections. Whereas, Tall claims of Modi are no where close to the implementation of the mission. Only 8 to 63 percent funds were utilized from 2014-17 and a large portion of funds remained unused.
Several Industries, Resorts such as Sarovar Portico and Eateries have been contributing to the pollution of Ganga. Show-cause Notices were issued to 180 defaulting Industries. As many as 42 out of them had neither submitted their compliance nor approached UEPPCB for inspection.
