Patriotic BJP hoists Tricolour upside down

The BJP is usually known for its patriotic and nationalistic rhetoric. The saffron party leaders never tire of slamming those who disrespect the national flag. They make a huge issue if anyone insults the Indian flag. But, what if the BJP itself insulted the national flag, that too on Independence Day?
The BJP faced this embarrassing moment on Sunday when a senior party leader in Kerala unfurled the national flag wrongly. The person who did this is none other than the state president of the BJP in Kerala. State president and fire brand leader K Surendran hoisted the flag upside down in the state office in Thiruvananthapuram. Normally, the red colour of the flag is on top, while green is at the bottom. In this case, the green colour was on the top. Before the BJP could realise the mistake and re-hoist the flag, the video clips went viral on social media. The Kerala police promptly booked a case against the BJP state president.
Meanwhile, the ruling CPM too was butt of criticism when it hoisted the party flag on par with the national flag. According to flag code, one is not supposed to have any other flag on par with the National flag. Interestingly, the CPM did not even bother to correct the flag.
