Pawan Misread Fan Frenzy For Votes
X
The frenzied crowds and the shrill slogans can blind the leaders to realities. More so if one is a political greenhorn with filmi background. A film star lives in adulation. Crazy fans can bloat one's ego. But, a politician knows that adulatory fan frenzy may not necessarily translate into votes. Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan is learning this the hard way. Even if half of the fans voted for him, he would have won some seats.

But Jana Sena's biggest problem was that it never had an organisational structure at the grassroots level. Nor did the leadership try to build one. Pawan tried to build a castle in the air and believed it would stand firm. But, it collapsed even before it was raised. Pawan never listened to sage advices and his star-crazed fans attacked anyone who had even tried to give an advice. Pawan said his party will not have the conventional structure and hierarchy. Anyone who tried to build one was shown the door. His fans did not rest till powerful Kapu leader Marisetti Raghavaiah, who had strong connections in Krishna, Guntur and Twin Godavari districts, was sent out. Raghavaiah was associated with Chiru family right from the Praja Rajyam days. In fact, Raghavaiah played a key role in the success of the Mangalagiri meet of the Jana Sena.

Similarly, party official spokespersons Vijayababu and Addepalli Sridhar too had to leave the party unable to stand these elements. But, Pawan did precious little to control these unruly elements. Similarly, he banked on leaders with no standing like Madasu Gangadharam. Madasu was not trusted by any of the party he had previously worked with. His proximity with Pawan had put off many workers. Similarly, leaders like Nadendla Manohar, Ravela Kishore Babu and Balaraju have no base among the people. Unfortunately, Pawan banked upon these people. The result is there for all to see.
