Jana Sena President Pawan Kalyan on Tuesday visited Uddanam area in Srikakulam district to meet the people suffering from Kidney-related ailments. He held a face-to-face interactive session with the sufferers during the public meeting.

Pawan Kalyan: 'The kidney issue in Uddanam is like a calamity. Why didn't Successive Governments try to resolve it even after countless people of a region kept dying for decades? Why parties approach people only for seeking votes? Why don't they care for their well-being? Government says they lacked funds. After demonetisation, Banks have abundant cash resources. AP Government allotted Rs 6,000 crore for Health Care. Rs 100 crore should be allotted for Uddanam issue alone. Setting up dialysis centers won't solve the issue. Focus should be on finding the inception of disease and its remedy'.

'I knew the pain of kidney patients & their kin. My aunt's husband died of kidney ailment. Minister Kamineni says Dialysis Centres have been established. Dialysis will be done in the last stage. Why don't Government try to identify the disease before its too late? You spend hundreds of crore for Pushkarams and thousands of crore for Capital, but won't allot funds even when people are dying. Government should have brought this issue to the notice of centre at the time bifurcation'.

'Jana Sena constituted a 5-Member Committee to study the issue in Uddanam. A report will be submitted within 15 days. I myself will offer the report to AP CM Chandrababu Naidu. If needed, I myself will meet lawmakers to resolve the issue. AP Government should offer helping hand to the kids who lost their parents in Uddanam. It should set up a committee within 48 hours. If Government doesn't respond, I myself would launch the movement'.
