Day 1 of Varahi Yatra: Pawan leaves both Jana Sena, TDP confused
By: Tupaki Desk | 15 Jun 2023 2:52 PM ISTOn his very first day of 'Varahi' yatra, Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan dropped a bombshell when he said that he is the CM candidate for the 2024 elections. Addressing the large gathering of supporters at Kathipudi, where he launched his yatra, Pawan Kalyan said contradictory things that sent confusing signals to both his supporters as well as the TDP, which is yearning for an alliance with him.
He told the gathering that he was the CM candidate. He proclaimed âI am the CMâ to the lustily cheering crowds. But, in the same breadth, he also said that he would contest only a few seats this time. Now the big question is - how can he become the chief minister if he contests only a handful of seats? If he wants to be in the race for the CM's post, he should contest at least 50 seats, say analysts.
He has also sent confusing signals to Chandrababu Naidu. Pawan Kalyan has time and again said that he would join hands with Chandrababu Naidu to defeat YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in Andhra Pradesh. But, on the first day of his Varahi yatra, he has not made any categorical statement about the possible political alliance.
On the first day of his yatra, Pawan Kalyan got an enthusiastic reception. Kathipudi region, which is a Kapu heartland, has seen an impressive turnout. As expected, the youth was present in considerable numbers. In his speech, Pawan Kalyan told the party workers and supporters to be prepared for sacrifices and work hard for the party's victory.
