Paytm Founder Gets Trolled By The Netizens
By: Tupaki Desk | 4 Dec 2017 3:01 PM GMTPaytm founder Vijay Shekhar Sharma is known for his business acumen but he was trolled by the netizens recently. The reason is that he shared a screenshot of his contribution to the Indian Armed Forces on the occasion of Armed Forces Week. While sharing the screenshot of paying Rs.501 through Paytm, he wrote that "Just sent ₹501 to Armed Forces Flag Day Fund. # @DefenceMinIndia"
Immediately after he shared the screenshot, netizens started bashing him for the amount he contributed to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund. Netizens questioned him that how can he contribute a meagre amount being the owner of a billion dollar company? One netizen asked him "What a cheap publicity stunt. These days common rural citizens give this much money for Saraswati Pooja. Our tycoons are so miser. CSR must have a burden for you. Didn't expect this from you!"
Another netizen criticised "You made crores and you contribute 500. I earn 1000 times less then what you make and ape d more but i don't tag the defence minister for cheap publicity." Another netizen satirically commented "Staying in 100 Crore house at Lutyens Delhi and donating 501 Rs only. Great support. Keep it up. Paytm karo."
It's surely an embarrassment for Vijay Shekhar Sharma as the Paytm company is valued at $7billion and he owns 18% stake in the company, which is around $1.47 billion. It seems he scored a self-goal.
