Indians need to be prepared for 'Fuel Ban' after facing issues with 'Note Ban' for Months. Yes, The Consortium of Indian Petroleum Dealers (CIPD) threatened to shut down Petrol Pumps on Sundays and limit the working hours in other days (9 AM to 6 PM).

On May 10th, Petrol Pump Dealers Association will observe 'No Purchase Day'. From May 14th this year, The above rules will come into effect if Union Government doesn't approve the demands placed by the dealers association. This is a move in protest of Oil Companies deny margins to dealers in line with the recommendations of Apurva Chandra Committee.

As per Apurva Chandra Committee Report, Dealers should receive Margins of about Rs 3,333 per Kilolitre on Petrol and Rs 2,126 per Kilolitre on Diesel.

In reality, Dealers were getting Margins of about Rs 2,570 per Kilolitre on Petrol and Rs 1,620 per Kilolitre on Diesel.

In January, Dealers threatened that they won't accept card payments if charges were levied on digital payments.
