11.3 crore pilgrims took Holy Dip in Pushkaralu

As the 12-day Godavari Pushkaralu ended on Saturday, The estimates show around 11 crore people took holy bath in the river at several ghats of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Telangana Government announced that about 6.4 crore pilgrims took a holy dip in the ghats set up in five districts. Where as in Andhra Pradesh, The pilgrim count is around 4.9 crore and the festival was organised in a peaceful manner except for the stampede on Day 1.

The Maha Pushkaralu ended at 6.38 pm Yesterday when priests offered to 'Nitya Harati' to Goddess Godavari at Rajahmundry. Pilgrims present at the pushkar ghat were thrilled with the fireworks during the conclusion ceremony.

In Telangana, Punjal Seva in Bhadrachalam, Shoba Yatra in Basara and Harati in Dharmapuri were performed to mark conclusion of Godavari Pushkaralu.
